1.Superstition/delusion

Superstition:if false belief is shared by group of people

Delusion:false belief by one individual

2.Infection/disease

Infection: if microorganisms are entered in the body and involves them

Disease: Not necessary involvement of microorganism or might be but it must bring 'dys' 'ease' in the body

3.Active surveillance/passive surveillance

Active surveillance: If health workers are directly involved for surveillance

Passive surveillance: If patients are done surveillance after they are ill.

4.Illness/sickness

Illness:subjective state of person being aware of not being well

Sickness:state of social dysfunction i.e a role one assumes when ill.

(Illness is the broad term that covers disease and sickness comes under the disease but not vice versa)

5.Health/Well being

Health:complete physical, mental, social well being

Well being:dynamic process of being aware of making choices towards being healthy, a state of being comfortable, healthy and happy

6.Congenital/Genetics

Congenital: those evident at birth or early infancy; a lot of genetic disease do not manifest at birth

Genetics: Hereditary

7. Intelligence/ Intellect

Intelligence: subjective and knowledge based

Intellect: objective, related with understanding and reasoning

8.Source/ Reservoir

Source: where microorganism start from

Reservoir: from where microorganisms reproduce,multiply and store

9.Incubation period/Latent period

Incubation period: the signs and symptoms shown by organisms after entering the body

Latent period: the detectable signs and symptoms shown in the body by chronic or long term disease

10.Epidemic/ Endemic

Epidemic: unusual occurrence of disease

Endemic:usual occurrence of disease

11.Contamination/Pollution

Contamination: If infectious agents are involved

Pollution: Might or might not be involvement of infectious agent but when there is involvement of foreign bodies

12. Quarantine/Isolation

Quarantine: Healthy individuals who have been exposed to a dangerous contagious disease are put into  quarantine.

Isolation::People who are ill with a contagious disease are put into isolation to prevent the disease from spreading

13. Infectivity or pathogenecity or virulence or fatality / Infestation

Infectivity: the clinical signs and symptoms after entering microorganisms which can lead to complications

Infestation: after helminths, arthropods etc. enter the body

14.Eradication/Elimination/Control

Eradication:complete stabilization of disease almost tending to zero

Elimination: decrease in transmission and prevalence of disease

Control:reduction in financial burden,insurance,duration and effect

15.Outbreak/global emergency

Outbreak:localized sudden effect

Global emergency: sudden effect along with international effect on economics and epidemic factor
