Haribahadur is written by the renowned celebrity of Nepal, method-actor Hari Bamsha Acharya. His autobiography, ‘’China harayeko manxe’’ is one of the best-seller books. ‘’Haribahadur’’ is one popular character from the Maha-Jodi serial series. ‘Haribahadur’ is the universal character of our society. One popular saying that is relevant to the character ‘Haribahadur’ would be, ‘’Love me, hate me but can’t ignore me.’’ This character has the ability to make us emotional, make us laugh, make us feel for society, and sometimes back to the character. However, we Nepalese have been so fed off with the cunningness of the politicians, powerful people, and general people of the society that you just want to hate this character. This book is not just about the life of the person rather it has exposed different political and social loopholes of the society.
During his childhood, Haribahadur is ignored by the family as he was an orphan. This became the reason for his lifestyle, friend circle, dreams and desires, outlook on life. The mistakes he committed never intervened with correction but the reaction approach was more negative that he developed a more notorious habit. The infancy psychological impact made an impact on all his life. The violence he encountered in his life didn't disappear from his bad nature. The family members in his household aren't involved in any social harm. Only he is caught involved that perfectly explains the dealing approach and how lack of love for a person can deviate them into criminal activities. This series of activities make us believe that a person is neither good nor bad by birth but his environment plays a major role in creating a character Even the self-proclaimed clever people, powerful people, soldiers (character) are easily fooled by ‘Haribahadur’. The path ‘Haribahadur’ stepped on was not necessarily part of survival but ultimately in the part of life, it turned out to be a necessary evil for his survival. Basically, we have this common assumption that when we cut the other with the same strength, it neutralizes. But the bad habits of ‘Haribahadur’ after marrying a girl who is as bad as him didn’t save him from committing crimes, rather it went on and on. It clearly demonstrates you attract what you cultivate as your habit. If you want to know how a character in society affects the whole balance in the essence of society, then this book is a definite go. Also, you can experience the emotions being reciprocated to yourself parallelly with the character.
In addition, the character in the book creates a trapping illusion that you need to put others down to be great and to sustain. How bad the character is, this character too has emotion, has love in him but his wrong deeds keep on manipulating us that tag him a bad person. It makes us sadistic in many cases where we actually need to empathize. In conclusion, the character ‘Haribahadur’ is different from the original like a cunning, clever, conspiring, manipulative, soft-hearted,, emotional, caring person. It suggests that it’s in the hand of a person themselves to decide what they want to be in their life, choose what they can be as well but unfortunately, sometimes this thread might not be in their own hand.
